PRACTICAL GUIDE
When an iPhone HEIC photo will not upload
Photos taken on an iPhone may use HEIC or HEIF. The format stores images efficiently, but some upload forms, older apps, and messengers cannot open it or reject it. Converting to JPG is often the simplest fix.
Before you begin
The name shown in Photos and the format sent to a website can differ. Select only the needed images and check whether the recipient specifically requires an original format or camera metadata.
Step-by-step
- Choose iPhone photos in the HEIC to JPG tool.
- Download a ZIP when there are multiple converted files.
- Extract the JPG files, check direction and quality, then upload them.
Check the result before sharing
JPG opens broadly, but it may not preserve every original HEIC metadata or editing feature. Keep the original and confirm that the receiving site preview looks correct.

Why does Safari show JPG after I select a photo?
A device or browser may pass the photo in a compatible format during sharing. Open the result to confirm the extension and image.
Can I convert several photos?
Yes. Download the ZIP and use only the JPG files you need.
